Originally founded as a valve supplier, Ventil has evolved into a specialist in advanced test equipment for safety valves, control valves, and actuators.

Ventil Valve Academy

In the early 2000s, as the demand for skilled valve professionals steadily grew, Ventil began laying the groundwork for a new standard in valve training. In 2013, that vision became a reality with the launch of the Ventil Valve Academy — a place where knowledge, experience, and real-world application come together.
By 2017, the next step was clear: go digital. Ventil launched its first-generation online eLearning platform, making high-quality valve training accessible to professionals around the world.

A new era!

Now fast forward to 2025 — as the Ventil Valve Academy marks its 12.5-year milestone. Ventil is taking things to the next level with the launch of the [RELOADED] project, giving the Academy a full reboot.

The launch of this new dedicated website marks the beginning. But in the coming months, we will be working diligently to add new eLearning modules, while our instructor-led trainings will undergo a complete transformation.

Ventil began this journey more than ten years ago —
When training meant overhead projectors, boredom, and bitter coffee.

But in this world — this accelerated, data-driven, AI-augmented reality — standing still is just another way of falling behind.

Meet the team

This is our Resistance — a team of thinkers, builders, trainers and connectors, operating both on the surface and in the source code. Each with a mission. Together, we’re rebooting the Academy.

Arthur Baars

Founder/Trainer

Back in 2013, even long before “training” became “Academy,” Arthur laid the groundwork as the quiet architect behind it all — driven by years of hands-on experience and a belief that knowledge should flow freely.

Adri visker

Technical trainer
Adri (aka: A3) is the Academy’s core knowledge module. With over two decades of hands-on experience in valve testing, service, and repair — both in the field and on the bench — he translates complex systems into clear, actionable training. His mission: From theory to clarity!

Mike van den Bos

Project lead
Mike rejoined the ranks of the Ventil Valve Academy in December 2024. After his first mission at Ventil (2000–2007), he returned to reboot the Academy — reinforcing its foundations and preparing it for the AI era, coded for the future. Ready for tech-savvy Millennials and Gen Z-Agents.

Richard Baars

Richard has been part of the core since the beginning. As a (often not so) silent co-founder, he operates behind the scenes — guarding the brand and ensuring the Valve Academy stays true to its mission.

Hendrik Jan van der Does

Management support
Hendrik Jan (aka: HJ) is a steady force within the Academy and deeply rooted in the industry. He brings clarity, balance, and direction — the rock that keeps the Academy grounded and focused.
